Europcar Complaint - Horrible roadside assistance and poor customer service
We rented a car from europcar for a week in May. The day before we were to return the car it stalled. We tried for 5 hours to contact roadside assistance. We were finally towed to the middle of nowhere. Europcar told us to find a way to get back to our villa over an hour away. They told us they didn't care what happened to us. When we arrived at the Europcar Rome airport office the next afternoon, they were told there was nothing they could do because it was Saturday. We filed a complaint but of course nothing was done. The car rental was 556 euros. After being stranded by europcar we spend 200 euros on a cab and 400 euros on a car service to get us back to Rome. We spend over $300 on phone calls to customer service who continued to hang up on us. After returning home a few weeks later there were charges on my credit card for the tow truck and for special fees and gas. I have tried repeatedly to get somebody at Europcar but nobody ever responds to e-mail or to phone calls. Don't ever rent with Europcar!!!!
