Ashley Furniture Complaint - DON'T PURCHASE GUARDSMAN PROTECTION PLAN
BRANDON, FLORIDA -- I purchased $4800.00 in new furniture from Ashley Furniture in Brandon, Florida July 2007. I also paid the $299.99 for the extended warranty from Guardsman. In less than a year I had a problem with the Sonoma Brown recliner. The brown coating on the head rest came off and revealed the orange leather underneath. I contacted Guardsman. The faxed us a claim sheet. We filled it out and had to mail it to them, they would not accept us faxing it back. Had to send it twice, they said they didn't receive the first, yea right. Second one they received( certified mailed it). They replied back the damage was not covered. What damage, the color came off. Because I didn't lie and tell them I spilled something on it, it wasn't covered. I called them. They blamed Ashley Furniture- poor quality. I called the store I purchased from. Manager said he'd call me back. I called him back 2 months later. He says give him another 24 hours. Yea right. Called Ashley Corp. Lady said email digital photo of problem area then they would decide. I didn't have to email the $4800.00 to them. This warranty is useless and so is Ashley Furniture. A waste of $299.99/ a continuation of CUSTOMER NO SERVICE. At least ROOMS-TO-GO will send someone out to examine the problem.
