Ashley Furniture Informative - Don't blame the sales people, understand what they have to put up with.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Customers must understand what pressures the sales people are under. Ashley require their sales staff to push everything, they are required to greet a customer as soon as they enter the store even though customers for the most part don't like it, but it's mandated.
Working for Ashley is a high pressure occupation the stress level is high that sale's people leave, the turnover is massive. I have been in the furniture business for 26 years and I have never, repeat never worked for a company that treats their staff so badly. When you are told your order will be in by a specific time they are only going by what the computer tells them, if there is a delay for your order to come in it's completely out of the sales persons control.
So the next time you go into an Ashley store assuming of course there is a next time go easy on the people there, they are only trying to keep their jobs to pay the bills and feed their families.
The state of Nevada is an " at will state " in other words they can and do fire people on a regular basis.
