RESERVING A ROOM WITH MY POINTS - Complaint
I have been a vip member of the Hilton hotels ( EMBASSY SUITES HOTELS FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS. I stay at the Embassy Suites, Hilton, or Hampton 95% that I go out of town on business. But when I called today June 21, 2009 to book a room for August 9, -August 13 for vacation at the Embassy Suites Plantation in Mrytel Beach South Caroilina I could only get the 9th and 10th of August because the 11th and 12th of August was booked up. However, if I had enough points for the entire four nights then I could reserve the room from August 9, 2009 - August 13th, 2009. So then I asked about August 16th - August 2oth well I couldn't use my points at all on that week. Why should I continue to use the Hilton Hotels for business, and pleasure stays, they will not honor my points that I have accumalated. This is all a bunch of bologna, not really my choice of words.!!! I am trying to go on vacation and cannot even get a room for the time that I need, and I am willing to pay for the nights that my points do not cover, this company needs to change their policy for Vip Hilton Honor Awards, or they will start to loose some business, all it takes is word to mouth and believe me this will be like the dominio effect, Hilton Hotels better wise up and treat their VIPS!! like they should be treated,

Hotels and airlines only allow a limited number of free rooms or seats to be given out on any given day. You want to travel to a popular summer destination during one of the busiest travel times of the year outside of holidays. Many schools across the world start up in late August or early September, so you are just really late requesting a free room for those weeks. Some people book hotels and frequent flier tickets almost a year out if it is a busy time of year.

KJ - there's nothing rude in saying that "VIP does not mean you're a god"
in fact there's quite a few people out there who should learn that.
There are already too many people out there who feel that they should be treated like gods, and that no one should ever *dare* tell them "no".
What they don't realize is that that kind of attitude is not something to be proud of. It's instead the height of being self-centered.
People who often put themselves first... find themselves being put back in their place.

Your 'freebies' are available on THEIR schedule not YOURS. I can't believe how selfish people are over things they get FREE. Never happy. Bet you will never stay at another Hilton will you?

A few years ago, TheNewSheriff created a Yahoo group called the Dueling Grounds. Mainly so M3C members could duke it out there, instead of clogging the reviews with petty bickering here.

I actually thought his feedback wasn't a bad idea. To me, it went hand and hand with your idea of posting who's comments were removed. The schiz would blow up in heah, if who was flaggin' comments was out in the open.

Sometimes it really isn't hard to figure out who's flagging the comments...I had seven of my comments flagged in one day and another five the next day...no violations of the TOS...as soon as that person signed on today, you guessed it, another of mine flagged...but the person who flagged them left their little mad fingerprints all over them...LOL.

It is my impression that Hilton does not have blackout dates unless the hotel is sold out. You should call the HHonors Desk NOT the hotel and see what you can do.
