Days Inn Complaint - Rudeness, filth, and poor repair
SAN FRANCISCO -- Don't stay here!
The A/C was broken as was the drain to the bathtub. As we showered in the morning, no water could drain unless the toggle was held down with hand or foot.
The remote to the TV was not funtional. I even tried replacing the batteries with ones from my camera.
A stack of cups lay atop the toliet seat as if the cleaning person had been interrupted and never returned.
In the bedroom section we found litter in the night stand and an empty toliet paper roll under a chair in the corner.
There was no staff to be seen staff 10:00 p m. The main doors were locked and the sliding glass to the office closed.
We tried opening the window but as a homeless man was sleeping in his van directly below the room, we thought it best to close it for safety!
In the morning the manager huffed that we should have changed rooms last night them ADMMITTED HE WAS NOT ON SITE! He then offered 30 percent off the bill. My husband, a forgiving soul, was about to accept until the manager demanded that we sign a paper declaring we were now satisfided. We refused and the full amount of the night was charged.
When we got home, I called the 800 number for Days Inn. The policy is to have the "site" handle the issue within the seven business days. As the manager has been so rude, I asked to speak with a supervisor rather than deal with the manager again. They took my number and did give me a call back. Sadly, in the second call, the woman cited "we are in South Dakota and have no way of knowing what is going on at the sites."
