Car Max Complaint - Piece of Junk
GEENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I have read some of the other carMax reveiws and I now know I am not alone. I purchased a Lincoln Aviator back in March of 2008. After having to resign papers on the initial purchase twice because of an error on the salesman part I took my suv home only to wake up the next morning and find that the sunroof was leaking and my ceiling was soaked and stunk like a wet rag. I immediately called carmax and they told me to bring it in. They kept the car for two weeks trying to stop the leak. Then about 2 weeks later I noticed a loud crunching noise when I turned the air on, once again that took about a week to "repair". I have had the car for over a year and it has been in the shop constantly. The warranty has covered about 12,000 in repairs not to mention I have moved and the Carmax in Columbia treats me like s@#t I guess because I didn't purchase the car from that location. So due to this I have to drive to Greenville location and I know live in Columbia which is super inconvenient and expensive. I most recently took the car back in for repairs again and asked to speak to the sales representative or manager about the car having constant repair issues. They gave me a quote to buy it back and it was 7,000 less than what I paid just a year ago and would've made me seriously upside down on my loan. So basically I am stuck with a car that breaks down constantly and a car dealership that refuses to take responsibility for selling a lemon. The further plead my case I just got it back from a 3 week long wait for repairs and the seat warmer/cooler is burnt out (again) and it is making that same loud crunching noise when I cut the air on. I have taken 3 times to be repaired and it is still not fixed. Buyer beware Carmax sells lemons and will not stand behind their product.
