McDonald's Corporation Compliment - Angus Third Pounder - Decent Sammie

Decent Sammie - Compliment
Review by Slimjim on 2009-06-23
First let me start by saying- Ordinarily, I don't eat fast food, in particular, Mcdonalds - I've always thought the food was a bit too greasy.

That out of the way, my wife picked up this Angus burger a couple times for me recently when she got stuff for the kids and for about $4, it's a pretty good hamburger.

It has a tasty cut of beef with swiss and mayo. Now I know what you are wondering but no, the mayonnaise in fact, was perfect. Just the right amount to flavor the sandwich without any risk of damaging this review's compliment status (or a pair of Dockers).

I'd put this sammie against your Smashmouth any day ZZ.

I'm not so sure about that Slim.
Mayo, SWISS CHEESE and Micky D's scares the daylights out of me!
What, were they all out of BEAN SPROUTS to go on the sammie as well?
I will give it a try but they will be holding the mayo and putting some good ol' AMERICAN PROCESSED CHEESE on mine. (VH)

Sounds good, Slimjim. Maybe I'll try one next time I get a hankering for a burger.

What's wrong with you ZZ...I eat swiss cheese sammies all the time...bread, swiss and Miracle Whip! Sometimes I use mustard (yellow or brown spicy).

When I read this review, I got all excited...I thought our Pirate was back! It seems that Slim has taken some writting lessons from Pirate...therefore, I HAVE to vote this review as very helpful...just for old times sake!
Posted by Slimjim on 2009-06-23:
There is NOTHING about this review that compares to pirate except for the token greasy jab. This review is to the point, cutting to the chase with useful information. No run on jibber about SEAPINES or yoyoma's lessons or his and Twiggy's mansion with the bathroom scum all over. Just plain facts about a delightfully dripless meal.
I have flagged your comment as inappropriate and offensive bASHER!
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
I, too, dont eat at McDonalds that often but after this great review, I shall order the tasty angus hamburger!
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
Swiss Cheese goes on your Ham or Reuben sammie not your burger but with you being from....... Well you know where. I am not surprised at anything that you eat. You probably put Ketchup on your Steak too.
*shaking my head*

Slim: "...or his and Twiggy's mansion with the bathroom scum all over....."

*you're killin' me*

Slim...I have canceled your flagging! And that's Basher with a capital "B"!

*Your next reality TV show coming this fall, "Mod vs. Mod"!

ZZ...I don't put Swiss on hamburgers...I only use American or Mozzarella cheese on them! And YES, I DO put Ketchup on my Steak!
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
Mozz, belongs on PIZZA or PASTA!!
What do you put on your Brautwurst, Soy Sauce?
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...I don't eat Brautwurst! YUCK!
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
ZZ...I bet you will NEVER guess what my Dad ate for breakfast yesterday!
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
Its 4:00pm EST, and Im tired and hungry. Imma try out the Angus burger after reading this salivating review. Daaaaaaaayum! It is good and tasty! Thank you SlimJim for persuading me to get the tasty Angus burger and recommend everybody else to order Angus burger 2nite!
Posted by Nohandle on 2009-06-23:
I've never heard of this one Slim but will give it a try tomorrow since there's a McDonald's right down the street from the office. I'm gathering it's not a regional thing. You didn't mention onion or tomato, which I don't eat and if need be pick off if someone doesn't listen to my order. Nice review and sounds like something new to try out.
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
Its 4:30pm EST, I decided to go back to McDonalds for second round of Angus Burger and this time I bought two of my buddies along for the ride. They, too, ordered the Angus
Burger and their impression was DAAAAAYUM, it was so good!
Posted by KenPopcorn on 2009-06-23:
Db... before you condemn, try a Johnsonville Cheddar Brat... you may have a whole new outlook.

Slim, where are you located? I haven't seen anything like that around here, sounds good though.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
That's DB with a capital "D" and a capital "B"!
I admit, I never tried Brats, but if it's anything like liversworth(or however you spell it) forget it!
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
Cool, MRM..now I know we have them in this area :)
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
Yes, I just got one on Newtown Rd.
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
Its 4:35pm EST, after leaving McDonalds, I holla at this fine sexy ebony who is waiting at the bus stop. Excuse me miss, do you need a ride? No, motherf**ker!
Posted by KenPopcorn on 2009-06-23:
lord no, not at all DB, the cheddar variety is like a high quality hot dog, with cheese mixed in. Hot dogs, themselves, are a variant of bratwursts. You are thinking of something completely different, and yes, gross.
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
Too funny, MRM!

Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
Mr. Mike...it's her loss!
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
DB, we call it LiverCheese out here and it goes good with MW. I am not a big German Sausage fan either.
Texas or Louisiana Hot Links off the grill is the bomb.
Hillshire or Hormel my eye in that department.
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
Alright, I'm now picturing a M3C cookout in the works.
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
It's that time, MissM.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
Hormel!!!!!?!????????!!!?????????? EWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

When my sister came in from PA this weekend, she made a AntiPasta salad and I had her name off every brand of everything she cut up in it to make sure there were no Hormel products in it...LOL...she was about ready to hit me up the side of my head!
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
OK, Zz, I want to make the ribs and potato salad (with MAYO).
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
That's cool as long as I can make the bbq sauce. I made up a nice batch a few weeks ago. If anyone wants the recipe (not exact) let me know.
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
Sorry, Zz, but I gotta use Sam the Cooking Guy's recipe for the ribs!
Will your sauce be good on chicken?

(Gawd I'm getting hungry right now)
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
I don't know, I don't much like grilled or bbq'd chicken.
*starving*
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
I'm having my left over BBQ Pork roast tonight...I had some left over in the freezer...DadBasher is stayin' away from it...LOL!
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
Well, Zz..send me the recipe and I'll write a review on it :)

I'm making homemade bbq chicken pizza for dinner tonight..mmmmmm.
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
Why?
Posted by Slimjim on 2009-06-23:
Northeast Ken, Mike, what Newtown RD? We're not talking CT are we?
Posted by MissMarple on 2009-06-23:
Newtown road spans both Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
Posted by Slimjim on 2009-06-23:
Got it.
Posted by madconsumer on 2009-06-23:
great review slimjim!

and best answer too.

Its 5:35pm EST, I stopped by BP gas station to buy $20 of lotto tickets for 2nite's drawing. The lucky winner will win the $68,000,000 jackpot! Woooooowserz!
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:
That money you spent on those burgers, could have gotten you some more tickets!
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
LOL! I still have it both ways!
Posted by Wally86 on 2009-06-23:
What would you do with that kind of scratch MRM.
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-23:
Im not following you, Wally. Those tickets are not scratchable.

Gallagher (the watermelon buster)once said that what you eat is your own business. If you want to put ketchup on your baked potato and sour cream on your fries, feel free, it is your food. I concur. Not a thing wrong with swiss on a burger. However, to my way of thinking, mayo has no business near, let alone on, a burger.
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
OMG, Gallagher was so lame!! He gave me a headache with his lame skits.

*even CarrotTop agrees*
Posted by Wally86 on 2009-06-23:
Was he the one who ran for governor.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-06-23:
starloard - right on.

cos my fav sammich makes some others shudder....
peanut butter and tuna fish on toast. (with sweet pickle relish & light mayo with the tuna)

and i like my PB & J sammiches made with mint jelly.
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-06-23:
Not sure, Wally.

PB and Tuna? Wow!
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-06-23:
sure! With PB & Tuna, the juices from the tuna stop the PB from sticking to the roof of your mouth.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-06-23:

Posted by DigitalCommando on 2009-06-23:
I forget what FF joint has it but the Bourbon burger is the bomb.
Posted by Wally86 on 2009-06-23:
Carls junior.
Posted by littleyaya on 2009-06-23:
Mmmmm I wanna Sante Fe chicken sammich
Posted by C2O on 2009-06-23:
Alright slim! I did not know this existed. I'll have to try it, minus the swiss and mayo.

I had the Angus 1/3 Pounder Burger when I visited a McDonald's in Columbus...it was an excellent burger. At that time Columbus was a test market city for the Angus Burgers. I wonder if McDonald's is going to roll the Angus Burger out nationwide...it's not available in Cleveland area McD's yet.
