Homesure Complaint - Homesure Ripoff - AC Condenser Unit Replacement

Review by skn on 2009-06-24
Hello ALL:

I am helping my daughter who had insurance with Homesure/Home Protect (they have several names) resolve a claim for a failed ac condenser. The contractor they hired "Fix my ac" came out to see what was wrong. They said she had a leak in her compresser and line set (pipe inside wall to heater). She is a single girl and trying very hard to afford this little condo. They wanted over $785.00 to get permits. I went to the City of Laguna Niguel and got a city permit for $92.00.
They are saying they cannot install a new condenser because it needs a txv valve and her current cooling coils inside are not compatible with the txv valve so the cooling coils need replaced.

Many extra charges. The insurance company offered a credit of $1,024.00 toward a new condenser or she could deal with "fix my ac" and all of their extra charges. I am currently fighting with both to try and get a resolve to these issues. The $1024.oo will not buy a new condender and that is all Homesure will pay for when my daughter thought she had insurance on her ac. THat is not insurance coverage.

Has anyone thought of taking Homesure to small claims court of getting people together to file a class action suit
