Auto Dealerships Complaint - A Farce? - Sales

Review by comp177 on 2009-06-24
I do not know if this constitutes a complaint as such or a inquiry. But I have been looking at prices of several new car makes and models, and I have been greatly disappointed. Maybe it was more hopeful wishing or not but I have not witness any great or appreciable reduction in new car prices.

Has anybody notice this or not? If so what is the story about these desperate car dealerships wanting to make sales.

the costs are the same their profits are lower. They can't lose money selling you a car.

See auto dealers as what they are. Local small business. A business that may employ 40+ people. Dealers work on very thin margins, an additional 5% discount on a vehicle may seem small (2k on 40k purchase) but its enormous for a dealer. Negotiate a price you are comfortable with but keep in mind these people need to eat as well - they are not your enemy.
