Hertz Complaint - Ripped off in Danbury Ct. by Hertz
DANBURY, CONNECTICUT -- I would tell you never to rent a car from Hertz especially in Danbury Ct. Our car broke down on our way from Ct. to Fl. The only Co. that had a car for rent was Hertz, only available 7 hrs. after we broke down. We needed the car for six days and to be delivered in WPB Fl. The Hertz people gave us a quote of a little over $400. on the phone. Keep in mind all of our belongings were on the side of the road in Danbury Ct. including tools from our car. When the kind people at the Comfort Suites drove us to Hertz I was so relieved to get the car. I told the guy I didn't think I needed the insurance but I couldn't remember why but he said I did. I was desparate and not thinking straight. This was a charge of almost $200. About 100 miles down the road my daughter called and informed me that she talked to State Farm and they said I was covered. I called Hertz in Danbury and asked them to take it off. They refused and said I had to bring the car back to Danbury. When I got to WPB the agent again tried to get Hertz to take the charge off and again they refused. To make a long story short the 6 day rental cost $1149. They took Advantage of my bad situation. Shame on the people at Hertz. The worst part when I try to call customer service they keep sending back to Hertz in Danbury. This was a total nightmare. Remember don't rent from Hertz in Danbury Ct.
