Evercom Informative - Evercom inmate collect calls
I have a prepaid account in winnebago county. costs me 50 bucks. what I want to know is how many phone calls I get for that and the duration?i also would like to know is if I get charged when my girlfriend calls me and I pick up and the phone company says you have a collect call from?and she can say a few words before they ask you to accept and I don't do I get charged for that?because it seems that sometimes I get more calls for my 50bucks than other times.

All these inmate calling system people need to start their own website to do complaints.
I'm sorry, but I really don't care if you can talk to someone that is costing me money (ie. tax dollars), sits around watching tv, has an exercise period, 3 squares a day, no responsibilities, etc. get the picture???
I think that once a convicted prisoner is released, the should have to REPAY the cost of their incarceration to the taxpayers. Including phone calls, attorney fees, and everything else we taxpayers had to pay for.

What really pi$$es me off is that at the age of 69, I'm supporting some schmuck kid who couldn't keep his crap straight!
Right now I have a 42 year old nephew who has had several years in prison for drug dealing and several drunk driving convictions...
As he was sitting with me today he pulled out his wallet to show me the wonderful new food bank card he just got worth $200 a month and his Michigan Medicade card for which he pays nothing...
(you and I do)...
Next week we have to take him to his parole officer because he can't get a driver's license...
Us old blastards can't get a break!

Old Fart that frigin sucks!!!!! I get $500.00 extra a month for hazardous flight duty and your nephew gets Medicaid for free and $200.00 a month in food. God!!!

Not only that Old F...but they have all kinds of programs to help them get "a second chance" by getting them jobs, and programs for free training...while the people who have been law abiding, tax paying citizens can't get a job.

Losthutch, your post is one of hundreds posted about Evercom. No one is being an idiot, it's just that this subject has been beat up around here for years. And Evercom does little to correct the problems.
