Nextel Complaint - Screwed by Nextel again!
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Let me preface my remarks by saying that I have been a Nextel customer for several years and I remain so only because most of my business contacts are on Nextel's system. That said, let me tell you a few things about how their game works:
First of all Nextel is all about pushing hardware and extending contracts. Your phone will be obsolete three to six months after you buy it and the closest equivalent phone will cost a hundred dollars more than the one you bought a few months before.
Upgrade and they extend your contract.
Lose your phone and they extend your contract.
Add features and they extend your contract. Leave Nextel and come back a few months later and the phone you have will be obsolete all of a sudden and the only way back into the game is a shiny new phone and a new contract. The ultimate insult came when I saw a new phone on their website that I actually wanted and went in to my local Nextel office and tryed to buy one. I, a long time, pay on time customer, was told that due to a short supply of the new phones they were reserved only for new suckers willing to sign a two year contract! Add to all this the most arrogant customer disservice people on the planet and you've got an idea what your "relationship" with this company will be.
