General Motors Informative - Faulty window regulators on 2001-2004 Deville - Window regulators

Review by Joe W. on 2009-06-28
I own a 2004 Cadillac DHS. Within the past 20 months, three of the four window regulators have broken. The first two (both front windows) cost me about $500 apiece to repair. One of the rear windows just broke and the dealership advised they are more expensive than the front; $690 apiece. I called GM and they absolutly refuse to do a thing about the problem. The service manager at my local dealership advised that there have been problems with the 2001-2004 models, however GM advised that must be a "local dealership observation" and they do not notice any problems nationwide. Their response was to advise me that they would offer me a deal on a trade in if I would buy a new vehicle. No wonder they are in bankruptcy! They sure know how to drive people into their showrooms by failing to back their products. I will never purchase another GM product due to their lack of concern for their customers.

I have a Cadillac CTS and have had the same problems, but mine is a new model. You'd think as much money as these cars cost GM could get it right! My long (extra) break light hasn't worked in over 2 years since the dealership said it would cost $1500+ to fix! Luckily, here in Texas that's not a critical failure to pass inspection.
