Wal-Mart Complaint - Pharmacy - Prescription nightmare
GRIFFIN, GEORGIA -- About to be released from the hospital after some heart work, my case manager indicated I could be discharged provided I had a source for Lovenox, a self-injected blood thinner. She said I MUST begin dosing myself that night. My pharmacy did not have it, so my wife recommended she call the local Wally World in Griffin, Ga. This Wal-Mart said they had it, so my wife dropped off the Lovenox and 2 other scripts. They accepted all 3. Upon pickup, we were informed they did not have Lovenox, but without attempting to notify us of this, they went ahead and filled the other two. We asked for the Lovenox script back so we could get it filled, and we needed to act fast as it was late in the day. The clerk refused since she'd already filled the other two. We got another pharmacy on the line who asked to speak with the Wal-Mart pharmacist so something could be worked out. The WM pharmacist said she was not allowed to talk on a cell phone. My wife, being a nurse, explained the critical nature of the situation to the clerk, whereupon she was provided with the script so we could take it elsewhere.
