RHINO Engines and Transmissions Complaint - Do not ever buy a remanufactured engine from RHINO Engines and Transmissions

Review by VHF on 2009-06-30
FAIRPORT, NEW YORK -- I bought a 1991 Buick LeSabre Custom 3.8 L engine from Rhino Engines located at 144 Village Landing #352 Fairport, New York 14450 on 5/22/2008. First of all my mechanic told me they made 3 different engines for my car and to tell them which engine I needed which I did.

They promise delivery of the engine in about 10 days but it took over 4 weeks before the engine was delivered and Rhino Engines state in their Brochure they have the best shipping companies in the United States. When the engine finally got there my mechanic said they sent me the wrong engine after he checked the VIN numbers. I called Rhino Engines and they transferred me to customer service which is one man. I told him that my mechanic said they sent the wrong engine but the customer representative would not let me get a word in and was fast talking me and said that it was not the wrong engine because he checked everything. He told me to tell my mechanic to put the engine in so my mechanic did. Rhino also ran my mechanic bill up because he had to put the new engine in and take it out twice which costs me $2000 total for every thing he had to do. I told Rhinos Cust Rep that I went to a Buick Service Department and the Buick service manager looked up my car and told me that Rhino Engines did indeed send me the wrong engine but they still insisted they sent me the right engine. To make a very long and costly story short Rhino Engines gave me the run around for 2 months day by day so I had to rent cars which costs me approximately $2000 dollars. The customer service department which is only one man would not let me talk to any one but him when I asked to talk to someone above him.
This whole process took me over 2 months. Rhino Engines never admitted to sending me the wrong but blamed it on Buick. I disputed the cost of the engine with my bank to get my money back. In all Rhino costs me approx $3000 dollars in having to rent cars and causing my mechanic to keep putting in and taking out the engine.
