Fraudulent... Bad Customer Service... Stay away from Verizon phone service! Complaint - Fraudulent Verizon Phone Service

Review by Denez on 2009-06-30
I signed up with Verizon Business Phone on January 2009. From the beginning I realized that they have a very bad customer service. I had no choice but to have Verizon phone lines because that was the only phone provider in the area that I was in. Before, I singed up I told them I did NOT want to be obligated to any contracts since I knew I will not be at my business location for more than 6 months; They assured me that there are no hidden costs, no cancellation fee, or anything. I singed up with them, I was told to connect my phone lines it might cost me about $100. The tech came in and told me it will take 2 ½ hours, and it will cost me about $250! I had no choice, so I paid.
On June 2009, I called to cancel my service and I was told I had to pay $79.99 termination fee!!! Even though I had asked a few of the representative and the manager, confirming that there are no fees other than my flat monthly fees. I was very mad, Mrs. Rivers the person that I talked to told me she will have a manager call me; after few days the manager called me and she told me I either pay for it or do not pay for it and mess up my credit! I am honestly convinced that Verizon is doing fraudulent business. If you have a choice then do NOT choose Verizon as a provider; if you do not have a choice then have everything they tell you written and signed by them so they have no excuse what so ever at the end.
P.S. If anyone has any suggestion on what I should do with the fee they are charging me let me know! I think it is not fair.

I suggest starting with filing a BBB complaint.

What did it say on the agreement you signed? That would tell the story.
