Supra Telecom Complaint - Used service for 3 days, had to pay for 30 days

Review by esterher on 2009-07-01
CAROL STREAM, ILLINOIS -- I switched services from Supra Telecom to Comcast, after Supra increased my tri-county calls fee from free to 15c per call. I work in a different county 5 miles from my house, so I call everyday back and forth.
I used Supra for 3 days, before disconnecting and transfering the service. I received a bill for the entire month, and when I called customer service, they flat out told me that they do not prorate, that I had to pay for the entire month.
I ask to speak to a supervisor, got a recording, left a message....no response.
This is not the first problem I have had with Supra, from disconnecting my alarm service when they first connected their service, to debiting my checking account twice plus a credit card payment, and refusing to refund the money, until I contacted the Florida Public Service Commission. I figured I had to put up with them if I wanted to safe some money, but not anymore, their fees are as high as the most expensive local phone company, and their customer service is atrocious.
NOw I am stuck with 2 payments for one service. I was never told this was their policy. I would have waited until the end of the month at least.
Do NOT Use Supra. They are not a good company and they do not care about customer service. They just care about their profit margin and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the most of your money. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did it start out free and go up to 15 cents within just 3 days of being with them? I can though understand them billing for the month due to the work involved in setting up your account. I do remember using these guys briefly years ago and although I can't remember specifics, I do recall them being a bit deceptive and wouldn't recommend them either.

HI. I have been with them for over 2 years, and it started free and went up to 15c per call. Also, I had paid already for the setting up/connection at the beginning, I feel they do not have to charge ne for the entire month when I only used them for 3 days.
