TXU Complaint - Don't Switch To TXU - Customer Service Nightmare
TEXAS -- Just venting here to save people the agony. If thinking about switching to TXU, you better have a lot of patience, and enjoy horrible customer service. My story started back on on April 29, 2009 when I called TXU to to have them switch me (from Reliant) to a lower rate, enticed by the slightly lower rate, and also the offer for a $75 pre-paid Visa. Said I should get something in the mail to confirm the switch, etc. I didn't hear anything from them until June 26 ( i.e. 2 months later) when they called me, to ask if I was still interested in switching. Surprised it took 2 months, I agreed to be switched being told that it would happen beginning of July, and was also told I would get the $100 pre-paid Visa, since that was the 'upgraded' marketing promotion that came out in May. Got the 'switch' notice in the mail, that basically said I would be switched in 45 days, and not get an invoice for 3 months. Are you kidding me? I called about this, got someone in customer service, who disconnected me half way through our call. Called back, got another representative who wanted to switch the account over to my name (it was set up in my wife's - why, I have no idea), and wouldn't answer any of my issues regarding the 'switch date' until we did this. The representative was inept. Asked to speak to his supervisor, who was powerless to do anything to rectify my situation of getting service cut over to TXU before mid-August, and wouldn't do anything to make me feel better about switching. Bottom line, TXU customer service is horrific - depending on who you talk to, you'll get different answers. They lie to you, then don't commit to finish the job. Good luck if you do switch, but for me, I canceled the switch to TXU, and am staying with Reliant.
