United Parcel Service Complaint - Horrible, horrible service
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- United Parcel Service claims to have made 3 attempts to deliver a package; the only slip that I received is marked "2". Within 2 hours contacted UPS with the tracking information, attempting to set the package to "will call." UPS refused; said it was being returned to shipper. It was in an "air container" they said; although it took over 2 weeks for return. Shipper not available for attempted deliveries. This time, tried to switch status of shipment after 2nd attempt; UPS refused. Said they would treat the shipment as "abandoned" after 3rd attempt, and discard the package. This despite my offer to pay all charges and reship the package. This was a special order package, and irreplaceable to us. UPS did not care; made no attempt at all to work with us, told us they were "unable" to do anything but follow their policy, which is to discard the box.
Rude, horrible, unbending customer service. No accommodations made for individuals who may not be at their homes all working hours.
Do not ship any personal freight with UPS; you are running a substantial risk of them abandoning your package.
