BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA -- Until the new NC law that prohibits smoking in restaurants goes into full swing, Non-Smokers beware. The bar is the ceter/focal point of the restaurant as well as the smoking area. All the non-smoking seats are placed within 5-10 feet of the smoking area with no partition or ventilation to prevent the smoke from permeating throughout the whole restaurant. Also, when you order a steak, be ready for it not to be cooked to order. I ordered a steak medium and it came out raw....not rare but RAW, it was ICE COLD in the middle and burnt on the outside. So instead of cooking another piece of steak, they re-fired the same one, now the steak is bleeding all over my plate and tough as shoe leather.....heaven forbid you ask to speak to the manager, he rolls his eyes and doesn't care. Horrible experience. I ate at one of their restaurants in CT a couple of years ago. There was a huge crowd of people waiting it get in so we assumed it must be decent. It wasn't. I can make a much better steak at home. Thanks for the review which comfirms our experience. I'll pay more for a better steak dinner any day or stay home and grill a couple.

Their ribs, however, are killer. It's hard to find a good steak out for less than $40, so I've always found it's best to cook my own.

Goduke, we never had the ribs (but they looked good), but you are definitely correct about the steak prices, depending on where you live.

That's too bad. I have only been there a few times over the past couple of years (I'm in Colorado), but the steak has always been really good for a middle of the line steak place.
As far as the smoking goes, we are smoke free, and it has made going out a much more pleasant experience.

I love it when people post pics (or links to pics)..and you were correct, that steak was too rare for medium. I never expect them to cook another steak from scratch if it just needs more cooking, but I would have expected them to replate it, and have it right the second time.

Sorry for your less-than-lovely experience. I think a person should be able to get a $20 steak and have it be delicious.
