Vantage Financial Securities INC. Complaint - Shoppers Sweepstakes

Review by teekay on 2009-07-07
TORONTO,ON CANADA -- My mother is hearing impaired and lives on a fixed income. She received a letter with a check enclosed for $4,875.00 from VANTAGE FINANCIAL SECURITIES INC. They stated she was among 32 participants that were selected to Win $4 million. She was instructed to deposit this check and then call back and they would give her the address of where to send $2,000.00 to some "tax agent" the rest of the money would be hers to keep. In 3 to 4 business days she would then receive the remainder of her "winnings" via Fed - Ex in the amount of $120,000. We decided to go to her bank and let the girls there give this letter a look. They immediately said it was fraudulent, but just for the "heck" of it the teller tried to verify the check. It was a real bank. It had a real routing number, BUT there was insufficient funds in the account! If my mother had followed through with their request, she would have owed the bank for the $2,000 and the bad check! These people need to be stopped!!

The public needs to be made aware if you Win something for instance, the North Carolina state lottery, they deduct taxes right out the gate!! You should never have to send money to ANYONE!!

I'm sure THAT particular lottery was a scam but fear not I have a connection with the Nigerian finance minister and I can hook you up for a small finders fee.
