Best Buy Complaint - Geek Squad screwed me over
REGINA, SK -- First of all, my laptop keys should not simply snap off as a result of typing.
I took my laptop in to the Geek Squad; I had extended warranty and was still covered for a few months. The guy at the desk filled out all the paperwork and told me it would be about a week. Well, two weeks later somebody from the place my laptop was shipped to called and said that I wasn't covered under warranty, that the simple repair would be 100.00. I told them my dad would call them back to speak to a manager about it, as the repairs should have been covered. He talked to them the next day, they sorted everything out but incidentally we still had to pay 50.00. Anyway, they said it would be a week and a half or so to be fixed. I called the next week to see how progress was going and the man told me that it would be fixed and ready for pick-up in the next few days.
Finally, today, we go to pick it up only to open the key board to find THEY DIDN'T FIX A GODDAMN THING. They claimed they hadn't spoken to us about paying the money when in fact we spoke to them 3 times regarding the matter.
The sheer incompetence of these people is staggering. I am absolutely livid about this as I am leaving the country for 6 weeks and don't see why I should have no other option but to leave my laptop in the hands of fools for so long. I am wary of leaving any more responsibility with them, especially now that I won't be around. Also, if they needlessly reformatted my computer -- like they warned me they sometimes do for no reason but that I could pay 100.00 for a copy -- there WILL be hell to pay.
I am wholly unsatisfied with Best Buy and will never again rely on their services.
