Fox Rental Car Company Complaint - Never Again!
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- On July 4, 2009 with a car reservation in hand it took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to get our car. We stood in line about 1 hour 45 minutes and watched them take at least 15 minutes to process each client through. The two rental agents had to share a walkie talkie to communicate with someone about getting each car which seemed to really slow things down. When I finally got to an agent and complained about the long wait time their response was "every one waits in line." THEN they overcharged me $8 from the quoted Orbitz booked price - the agent response was "we have no controll over this". Then we walked to a remote area of a dark garage in the airport and seen a FOX Rental Company metal sign laying on the ground next to a small beaten up wooden desk in a vacant parking stall that was where many people were waiting confused about what to do next in trying to get their rent FOX car. We found out you need to track someone down an almost beg them to get your car - this took another 30 minutes. When our car finally arrived, we wanted to take a few minutes to note scratches all over the car. The FOX car attendant was very upset that we were holding him up to do our inspection, we even asked him a few questions that he pretended not to hear us. He just told us that we should only note major damage to the car and not worry about scratches. When we returned the car we sat in the parking lot because everyone seemed to be too busy taking cigarette breaks to check us back in. I have rented a lot of cars but this was the first and last time with FOX rental. Our story would be a great commercial for Avis or Hertz.
