Dish Network Complaint - Incompetent Installers
We have been Dish Network customers for a decade and have always been pleased. We think the programming is great, the graphics are good, DVR is very user friendly. We recently moved to a much larger home and wanted dish installed, 4 dual receivers and 8 TVs. I paid Dish Network $1,250 for two receivers as they would only give you two and you have to buy the other two. A few days later I got a bill for $326 for a $140 a month service. So now I am out about $1600. It is one week later, 4 installers later, and my system still is not right. Every installer that comes out either shrugs their shoulders or states that the last person did not know what they were doing. All I want is the receivers to work, the remotes to control all functions so we do not have to use 2 remotes per TV, and have all receivers hooked up to the phones or internet so we do not get penalized $5 per receiver. This was apparently too much to ask. After the third incompetent tech came out, still the system was not right, Dish agreed to crediting me the $326 bill (which I am not quite sure why it was so much but too exhausted to argue anymore).
The fourth technician was supposedly the installation manager. He took the liberty of moving and subsequently breaking a leg off of my $4000 king bed. One would think that he may be humbled, apologetic and willing to help my husband fix it. Instead he stood there with a smirk and told him "I got more bad news for you, the phone connection behind that bed does not work." It was a complete joke to him. He told me that it was my fault because I had guitars stored under my bed and that is what the leg of the bed was caught on. I thought my husband was going to beat him to a pulp. Instead, my husband let his dismay be known and, understandably so, used a few choice words to which the tech told my husband "I don't need your attitude". He then left.
I then noticed that the freshly painted wall in my room was horribly scuffed from them climbing out from behind the arnwoire. I am taking pictures of the damage and submitting a contractor bill and painters bill for the damage done to my home. I called Dish again and have yet heard from a supervisor. I really feel like I am in the satellite TV twilight zone. I am disgusted and appalled at the lack of work ethic of the installers.
Bottom line, if you can get your system up and running with little hassle you will probably love Dish but the installation process may cause you to be psychiatrically admitted if you have little patience or any common sense.
