Days Inn Complaint - Days Inn 15% Rate Promotion - Scam - Misleading - Review - Bait and Switch
I recently went online to make reservations at a Days Inn in Mesa, Arizona. I did this online because of their "Buy Now and Save 15% Off of Our Best Rate" promotion. When I went to make the reservation, I entered the location, the date, and then selected "Best Available". I was taken to a page with several different locations on it. I chose one near where I wanted to stay and clicked on "Reserve".
The rates for the various room configurations appeared on the next page. At first, it appears that these are the "Best Rates" (the rates that would be reduced by 15% if one were to "Buy Now" like the promotion suggests); turns out that the rates listed ARE the rates with the 15% already taken off.
No where on the site does it show the rate BEFORE the 15% was taken off. VERY MISLEADING.
After looking closer, one will see that the site shows "Buy Now and Save 15% Rate" above each one of the room configuration boxes; explains a little, but still VERY MISLEADING.
Very reminiscent of the old "Bait and Switch". So I called Days Inn customer service. The representative there said she has received MANY phone calls about this and that she agrees it is very MISLEADING.
Just wanted to post so everyone is aware of how GM, oops I mean AIG, darn it, I mean Days Inn is practicing business these days.
All the best,
