Travelocity Complaint - Didn't book the reservation
My boss offered to pay for a one night hotel stay and gas in San Francisco so I could drop off some hardware that was his. So, we decided to just take a weekend, catch a Giants game, and do some sight seeing since we only lived 2.5-3 hours from Frisco. Seem like a pretty simple, harmless trip that would be hard to screw up right? However, I decided to use Travelocity to book the Hotel...which was a mistake.
We booked a night at a hotel a couple of days before the trip. When we arrived at the hotel a couple of days later to check-in, the hotel had no record whatsoever of our reservation. The ladies at the reception were very courteous and called Travelocity to try and figure it out. They were booked solid for the weekend however, so there was no way they could get us a room. After talking to a Travelocity agent, the ladies at the desk called another fairly close by hotel of roughly the same value, and told the Travelocity agent that we were referred to this hotel (which had open rooms) and he needed to call this hotel to set us up with a reservation. A little ticked off, but happy we would get this settled, I went to the new hotel.
When I arrived at the new hotel, I mentioned that we were the people that were referred from the other hotel, which was acknowledged by the receptionist. I told him that Travelocity was suppose to call this hotel to transfer our information and such...but of course they received no such thing. He checked their fax machine...nothing, so I was back on the phone with Travelocity. After telling the Travelocity agent the whole story, he said he needed to call the other hotel to get some information, to which I told him they had absolutely no information on my reservation. It was as if everything I had done up until now for nothing. So, the agent puts me on hold to contact the other hotel. After a few minutes he clicks back over and told me that they had put him on hold because they were really busy (i am pretty sure the hotel was sick of dealing with Travelocity as well). So, I lost it a bit and let off a bit of steam to this particular agent telling him that I was charged for nothing. He said there was nothing they could do because the manager for the other hotel was not there. I demanded my refund there, but he told me the same thing. So I got some info on the agent, hung up, and booked a room in the new hotel I was at. I had a fine weekend after all this mess and I just hope Travelocity refunds they money they charged me.
Don't deal with these people.
