Mobile Device Protection Association, LLC Complaint - Deceptive business practices
BOCA RATON, FLORIDA -- I purchased a Blackberry 8900 through Wirefly.com and also purchased the $50 insurance for my phone. The way it was sold is that I would have up to 4 free replacements with in 12 months of my purchase. I was not give the details of the policy prior to the purchase, but the sales representative assured me it was the same that AT&T provided. I recently lost my phone at a restaurant or in the cab on the way home. I filed a police report, and submitted my claim. I was promptly denied due to "negligent loss", however the policy states "devices are protected from accidental damage, theft, malfunction or loss up to the liability limit of $300." I have filed a case with the Board of Commissioners office in Palm Beach County citing deceptive business practices and not honoring my claim.
Has anyone had similar instance and how was it resolved?
