Expedia.com Complaint - Very bad Expedia service
All 4 members of our family contracted a stomach virus that caused us to all have vomiting and diarrhea on the day we were to leave.
I made the only call I could hoping to have our travel agent (Expedia) take care of rescheduling the flight and car rental.
The agent refused to call the airline or trip insurance company for us and only after explaining that I could not possibly call anyone else, agreed to call the car rental agency. But after 10 minutes holding, I still had to talk to the car rental agent.
Because of the actions of Expedia, we had to re-book a one way car rental to drive 4 more hours through the mountains of Colorado and book 4 one way airline tickets that eneded up costing more than the original roundtrip airfare.
I understand this may be the scripted actions that an Expedia agent should employ, but a little compassion in our circumstances would have helped.
I have always used Expedia, since before Microsoft owned Expedia, but this was the first time I actually needed service and the purchased insurance. I will not use Expedia ever again and will make sure to explain my experience to anyone I meet when travel comes up.
