Radio Shack Complaint - Not happy with product or service
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE -- Eight months ago I purchased a weather radio. It was the first time I'd ever purchased anything from Radio Shack. About two months ago the radio stopped giving automatic audio weather alerts. The clock still works and when I push the "weather" button I can hear the alerts but it doesn't give audio alerts anymore. Since every thing else still works I thought perhaps there was something that could be done to re-program it. I went in to the store and was told by an employee that there wasn't anything that could be done. He didn't attempt to even look at it. So I purchased a different radio. When I got it home and opened the box I found there were no instructions inside. I called the store and got the same, unhelpful, unknowledgeable employee. I explained the problem and he had no idea what to do. I asked if there was a web site I could go on to find the instructions. He didn't know and didn't offer to find out. I finally asked if I came back could I take the instructions out of a different box. He asked another employee what to do and was told he should copy the instructions from another box and I could have those. I'm ok with that but now I have to drive another 40 miles to the store. I tried calling the customer service phone number on the Radio Shack web site hoping to be able to download instructions but all I got was a ringing phone. Obviously I'll never buy anything from Radio Shack again. Not just because the product I purchased was garbage but because their help is totally clueless when it comes to customer service.
