GM-Emerson Chevrolet Complaint - Possessed 06 Cobalt Drives Off Road At Any Given Time

Review by Jenn521 on 2009-07-16
I bought this car when the Cobalts first came out at the end of 2005. I leased it, which now I know not to do ever again, but that's just the beginning. I bought this car because I was going through a nasty divorce and as a "newly" single mother, wanted a reliable vehicle that I could depend on. Ever since the car hit 36,000 miles (how convenient that this is when the waranty expires!) it has has electrical and front end problems. From 36,000 miles to 75,000 it has been in the garage at least 1 time per month. While driving down the road at any given time, I lose power steering, breaks and my transmission leading me into the ditch. This has happened to me numerous times with me and my daughter in the vehicle. You know what the kicker is? The engine light doesn't come on when this happens so no dealer or mechanic knows how to fix it because the computer will not send an error message. So now I am stuck with a car that I can't fix even if I wanted to, and have to return the car in 4 months to GMAC who will in turn charge me even more for the electrical damage to the vehicle. When calling GM to complain I got hung up on.

I will never buy another Chevy or any GM ever again, and I will make sure everyone knows what snakes they really are.

I suggest contacting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is their website:

"I leased it,"
"I bought this car .."

did you think about turning it in after the lease was up?

Could the accident have caused this lasting damage. My Mum's car had problems even after being fixed for an accident. Though in her case it eventually was fixed.
