United Airlines Compliment - And I Didn't Even Fly - Air travel

Air travel - Compliment
Review by skelly39 on 2009-07-17
After reading 6 billion negative reviews about the airline industry in general, I was about ready to hurl this morning when I put my daughter on a plane to SFO. I figured it would be the nightmare from hell.

When we got to the airport, the line was pretty long. She wasn't checking bags, but she was an unaccompanied minor so we had to wait in the ticketing line. An airline employee bumped us up in front and checked our IDs and sent us on our way.

The line through security was even worse, but a nice (!!!) lady from the TSA sent us through the first class lane so we were done in a few minutes.

When we got to the gate, they let her board first, and they even brought her bag back to her when her dad forgot to hand it to her when we said goodbye.

Plane took off on time, got into SFO early, and according to her, the flight attendants checked on her constantly which apparently annoyed her and made me very happy.

Very cool. The fact is that there are millions of folks in the air each day, and, by and large, most of the trips go pretty well. Glad your kid go on one of those.

Awesome. I and my DD have always been treated well when she flew UA, by any airline. I'm so glad it went so well!

Yay!! Loved the part about the flight attendants being so diligent she got a little annoyed...good for them! Nice review too.

Thanks, everybody. Boki, I agree-diligence is great, even if they charge for it. I thought it was pretty funny that she got annoyed (her baseline). All I could think was "tough sh**, sister, they could have kept you on the runway for 12 hours."

Lol, skelly :)

Hey, she's just doing her job as a kid..being annoyed, embarrassed or full of joy. That's the way I remember it, anyway. :D

The "joy" part is reserved for the grandparents. I get "annoyed" and "embarrassed." I miss that kid.

The last time my middle child flew alone he flew USAir and was on a buddy pass. All that was available was first class. He was the only one up there and was treated like a king. When they handed him over to us they apolgogized for all the soda he had and he may be hyper for awhile, LOL. He loved all the extra attention. When we flew as a family to FL last year he was upset that we had to fly coach!

Hahaha! He's a first class guy now! Too cute. :D

It's Pop, NOT Soda...Just Pop..P-O-P...POP!

P-O-P in the north. SODA in the South.

Coke

Ummm... I grew up in Northwest Ohio. It was POP there. Here in Central Ohio, it's SODA.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-07-17:
Well...it's SUPPOSED to be POP everywhere, 'cause the Basher says that's the way it should be....So, mote it be!
