I called Dell ready to purchase bt had one question regarding a component. I wanted to know if the graphics card supported dual monitors. I had checked the manufacturer's site and it wasn't listed. Sales told me they couldn't provide the info and transferred me to India. Guess what-- they also couldn't help. Pretty good I'd say-- the ones responsible for selling don't know what they are selling and the ones responsible for repairing don't know what they are repairing.
To make a long story short after 3.5 hours of getting the runaround I have been told by someone else that there are two different cards with the same number, one that does and one that does not support two monitors. Pretty clear, no? Also I was told as I was from Canada I have to look at the Canadian site and not the U.S. one. I asked him what the red and white flag with maple leaf on it with the CANADA meant? He then told me that it was impossible that Dell was selling units in Canada with that graphics card. Even if it said on the website that it would ship with that card, it would really ship with something else.
It goes on and on, but it is obvious why that company has been gooing downhill-- they have yet to figure out that anybody can build a computer-- its a low margin commodity-- so the biggest selling point is service. And they don't rate. Thank God I didn't buy one of theirs.
