Old El Paso Complaint - Old El Paso Taco Products Don't Live Up to Their Packaging

Review by Eloise on 2009-07-19
I recently purchased Old El Paso's Hard Shell/Soft Shell package, my mistake. The hard shells were actually mini taco shells. Great shells but way too small. The soft shells were a mess. They were tiny and looked as if they had been cut down by a toddler. They also broke apart as soon as you picked them up. Luckily I had a package of flour tortillas on hand so I saved a trip back to the store that day. I consider this product a waste of money and I wish I hadn't purchased them. You might not want to either.

Well, this is how we learn. Not every new item we purchase will meet all of our needs. (I love shopping at Costco, but when I see something new I think I might like, I don't buy it there because I don't want a whole case of soemthing I may not like.)

Thanks for the feedback. I will be more alert should I ever think of purchasing these shells.

I saw these in the grocery Friday and did a double take. I don't recall seeing them before or if they were there I hadn't noticed them in the past. Are these for a family that can't agree on the type of shells? At any rate, thanks for the heads up.

Nohandle, they are for just that! Hard for me and the hubby and soft for the kids.

Hey C2O, I wear my reading glasses when I go grocery shopping..thank you. I have been known to pick up the wrong product from time to time so I'm thinking of going back to the Dollar Store and getting some stronger ones.

I do too NH. Get mine at the same place you do too.
You wouldn't flip out if I asked if you have a German Shepherd, would you?

Actually I have a miniature Rat Terrier, thanks to the sleeze ball who dropped her off. Kindly forward your shipping address and I believe my dog will have a new home. Thank you in advance for your assistance. I'll be shipping the cat also in case the crate is a bit heavy.

Good info Eloise. I love home made soft taco's but have always stuck with the old style large soft flour one's. Guess when you have something that works you're less likely to change. (VH)

Just for fun! Who prefers a hard shell taco? Or is a soft shell taco for you?
