Ikea, Covina, CA Complaint - Horrable Customer Service

Review by kendra252 on 2009-07-22
COVINA, CALIFORNIA -- I had never had a problem with the store or the product till this last time I went I bought a closet to make more space in one of my rooms andd after not even 2 months it started bending from the middle I had to empty it out and try to fix it but it was worse. the hole thing fell apart. They don't want to help me at the store and When I spoke to the returns manager and he made me feel that because of my race he didn't want to help me. I need to get a hold of someone in the corp. office because I am not happy at allwith the service I got yesterday at the store.

Well, I was with you until "Because of my race". Sorry, I could care less now.

Yep, I'm getting a little sick of people crying racial discrimination over every little thing. Once you do that, you lose all credibility.

"..and he made me feel that because of my race he didn't want to help me."

Yet you provided no details.

You purchased a closet fixture and tried to return it after 60 days. What is their return policy on stuff like that?

I'll tell you something else..if you overload those temp closets with clothes, they ALL bend.

I read the return policy on ikea.com, and it clearly states that returns and exchanges must be made within 90 days and accompanied by a receipt. Did you have a receipt? I doubt it, but it would still somehow be turned into a racial issue.

yay canadian! I was too lazy to look it up. VH

Np, and let me say something else. People cry out and campaign to be treated equally, but guess what? Your'e never going to get equal treatment if you keep crying racial foul at every opportunity.

The boy who cried wolf applies here completely. We've already become jaded to it. Makes it difficult for the very real cases of discrimination.. Good point.

Rosa Parks being told to give up her seat on a bus was discrimination. A black man in New Orleans being beaten almost to death by the police was discrimination. You being denied a return at a furniture store is not racial discrimination. Boki's right, you make it harder for the real victims.

Kendra, not only are you disgracing that pretty name which happens to be my dream date's name as well but you are making yourself look very foolish.
You go out and by some flimsy closet and probably overfilled it which caused it to buckle in the first place then you go to Customer service to rant. What did you want him to do? Fix it, buy it back or give you another?
Racism is bad business and this is far from it.
(NH) Sounds like you need a man in your life my sista......

I was at the store this morning...and the cashier yawned when I walked up to check out. I KNOW she did it because of my race. I filed a complaint with the store manager and I'm seeking a lawsuit against them for discrimmination because before I left, I watched and she didn't yawn as the other three customers behind me checked their stuff out, why? Because they weret the SAME race as the cashier. I'm requesting a copy of the security tape so I have evidence when I take them to court.
