Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Selective Listening - Chevrolet Impala 2009
SEAFORD, DELAWARE -- I have rented from this company several times and their employees have always been courteous and considerate.
Recently, I rented from a franchise in Delaware.
As we looked at a couple of cars, we were very up front about travelling to Florida to visit the west coast (house hunting) and the east coast (visiting relatives). We discussed my grandson taking and using his 'boogie board' on the east and west coast in one trip since the vehicle we chose had a very large trunk.
Unfortunately, on the way home, some rubber-neckers (unbelievably) stopped in the passing lane on I-95 in South Carolina and we were involved in an accident (no injuries, thank goodness).
Fortunately a State Trooper witnessed the accident and no ticket was written.
The tow truck driver gave us a ride to the airport in Charleston, where the Enterprise people refused to rent us a vehicle because they said "we were not supposed to leave Delaware with the car." Did I mention we both live in Maryland?
The reasons I rented from this franchise were the reduced rates, and the 'no mileage charge unless you take the vehicle west of the Mississippi or into Canada'.
We rented a vehicle from Hertz at the Charleston Airport. Their representative was most pleasant and understanding.
I will never rent from Enterprise again! I have adequate insurance, we did everything correctly, and we feel that our treatment by this franchise, and the one in Charleston, was abysmal. Our trust has been violated! Our integrity remains inviolate!
