Garmin Mobile XT - Complaint
I ordered a Garmin Mobile XT memory micro SD chip that the cost included shipping and handling. During the checkout payment they make it difficult to see and select the free shipment option and as expected the odds are against the buyer and ended up with shippement charges. They have the option to pay with PayPal and I did as this was faster, easier, safer and more convenient for me. When I found out that they charged me shipping and handling I tried to find a telephone number on their web site to call them but I could not find any. I could not contact them any other way because I paid via PayPal and had not signed up (open an account) on their web site. I believe the fewer places you enter personal and credit card data the safer it is. I had googled and found a phone number called them. They said that they show the free shipment as "budget shipment" on their checkout but the shipement types were no clear to me. They did not show the various shipment costs like other reputable vendors do. They said they will refund the shipment costs but gave me no reference number or email confirmation. I will not go back to this place. There are other reputable vendors one can do business with.

There are three options at that screen. The first one is budget shipping which, when selected, immediately changes the shipping to free. The second is standard shipping which, when selected, changes the shipping to a regular price ($7.18 in this case).
Not sure how this wasn't really clear and easy to follow. Just because it's not an interface like you see at a different vendor doesn't mean it's not reputable -- just means its different and that you have to watch what's going on as you check out.
