Expedia.com Complaint - A VERY DIFFERENT KIND OF VIRUS!
BELLEVUE -- I purchased a flight roundtrip for my husband who flies frequesntly being a contractor out of state. After completing payment my pc alarm went off stating it had obtained a virus from the Expedia website. My pc went into shutdown mode-upon bringing it back up the confirmation email from Expedia for this flight came into my inbox which at the very moment the alarm went off again and the pc went into shutdown mode again. When the pc was brought back up the second time, of course the confirmation code and itinerary were deleted as they contained a virus. I immediately called Expedia and explained the situation to them and obtained a transaction/confirmation code. Upon starting my pc up the next day it the drivers were completely knocked out from the virus. I was LIVID! I called Expedia and after spending more than an hour with them on what was acceptable footing they agreed to give me a "$100.00 travel voucher". They stated it was "good for any purchase with Expedia." 2 weeks later I try to use this voucher and find that it was NOT good for flights-only "hotel and vacation packages"! Furthermore the condescending attitude of 3 supervisors-all the way up to the corporate level never waivered from the limited use of this voucher. They further denied transmitting any virus-contrary to what the agent said to me the night this incident happened. They best you will get is to write another non-English speaking schmuch their "CEO" a letter. Which is what I did...to no avail! NEVER USE EXPEDIA-I will NEVER, EVER AGAIN!
