Dairy Queen, Inc. Complaint - 90% of communication IS nonverbal
MADISON HEIGHTS, VIRGINIA -- I ordered a birthday cake from my wife on picked it up from Dairy Queen on my way home. The young lady that helped me over the phone sounded nice and polite.
When I arrived at the store to pick up my cake I was in store for a "rude awakening." The young lady at the counter let me stand there for a second as she was apparently upset from her dialogue with the other worker about somebody who did not show for work. Well I as the consumer received all the recourse of her disappointment. I informed her that I was there to pick up a cake and she responded "under what name" as she walked away from the counter I assumed to get the cake. When she returned she still had that same rude look on her face as she basically elevated her voice and asked "what is supposed to be on the cake." At that point I hesitated before answering in disbelief that she was just so rude. She ranged up the order and never looked up and handed me my receipt afterwards. I was smiling hoping that it would encourage her to smile but it did not work.
Well she non-verbally handed me my receipt and did not say anything after the transaction. It is a good thing that "Thank You" is on the receipt and the receipt even states, "Visit Again."
