Viva 2 Tires - Complaint
Review by MrRoadtrip on 2009-07-27
10 years ago, Firestone went on a PR campaign to be certain that you and I know that there is nothing wrong with Firestone tires. Ford SUVs are faulty and flip over on their own. The part that Firestone failed to mention was that several types of tires were defective. Even high- performance tires were failing.
With the Viva 2, you pay about $85 at Wal Mart. $85 is pretty low for a blackwall tire price, but consider that these tires are only sold at Wal Mart. Tires can pass US standards and still be unsafe in the long-term. Tires can pass QA at the factory and still roll at the most odd angles. Some will still vibrate and may never seem to be rolling smoothly. Some tires you can never balance properly. Some tires seem to have a good brand, good reputation, and are doomed to fail prematurely.
Wal Mart wants their managers to sell a Goodyear Viva 2, and stock these tires so that you will buy them. Wal Mart mechanics will tell you the Viva 2 is a good tire. Some mechanics will tell you that the roll quality is decent.
If you buy these tires, you have only the Wal Mart promise of satisfaction. So please rush on back and stand in line at the customer service desk behind the toothless mother of three in the Big Pecker's T-shirt. Explain your situation, and get better newer different tires before you find yourself upside-down in a flooded ditch.
