Honda Complaint - Rear wheel brakes Honda 2008 Accord
I went into the dealership on 7/28/09 to have an oil change and filter, let them know there has been squeaking, they come back and tell me my rear brakes are 95% worn and I need them replaced asap, and would cost $250. I went to Meineke right after, didn't tell them I had gone to Honda, and they said my brakes were not near 50% worn. I called back the dealership and they gave some bull about their standars, their customers, etc, and that they were worn based on technician notes. My car feels fine, and based on reviews, it sounds like a lot of people are having the same problem. My car only has 20,000 miles on it, Honda better figure out what they are going to do for their customers, since brakes should not have to be replaced under 30,000 to 40,000 miles. Makes me think twice about getting a car from a dealership, or even going to the dealership. Technicians there also make money on the daily sales, so they will get whatever they can out of you.
