Some Guys Pizza Complaint - Are you kidding me?

Review by NofriendofAX on 2009-07-29
OK it pains me to write this review, because truthfully the food and service is outstanding. I thought the recession was overwith. A co-worker and I went to lunch here recently. The refilled our drinks and we knew there was no way we would finish them, so we asked for a to go cup, didn't want that full drink to go to waste. The waiter informs us that he would have to charge us $1.00 per cup. Wait a second, I just spent $13 for lunch and you want an additional $1.00 for a cup. Interestingly, we asked for to go containers for our left-overs and there was no additional charge.

I was half tempted to knock the glass over and let that soda spill on the table or floor, at least this way I wouldn't feel like it was wasted!

Rethink your policy Some Guys.. I'll still be a faithful customer... I'll just remember to bring my own cup next time.

I was just on their website and it does state that carry out sodas are an additional $1.00. Personally, I find that ridiculous, but they do have it in writing.

Can you tote your own beer and wine in there?

IF you think that’s bad, go to Carnegie deli in new York. If you want to split something with your friends they charge you two dollars per plate. I never been there, but my friend who lives in new York told me this. VH

I was just floored that we got the container for our leftovers at no charge, but the cup was extra. My co-worker looked at me and was like WTF. Oh well, I guess they would prefer folks to be wasteful! Next time I'll ask for a refill just before I leave.. Would that be making a statement?

C2O, my friend brings her own liquor to bars. Most bars give out soda for free, so she'll go into the bathroom, pull out her flask, and add booze. Sometimes she brings her own bottles of beer.

Wally, some of those buffets in NY weigh your plate and charge you by the lb.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
I can't condone that sort of behavior little.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
How about they weigh the person and charge them by the pound.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Yeah, I'm sure you're too busy doing other stuff in the bathroom
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Wally, I can eat a lot for how small I am
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
We have a home town buffet near us. Its pretty good, not the best but the prices are fair.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Buffets aren't the most sanitary of places. The sneeze guard is pointless
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Last time, I saw some snot nosed kid. picking his nose. and flicking his boogers at the salad bar, I skipped that area lol.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
little, all I think of at buffets is how many people have handled the serving utensils with dirty handles. That's enough to gross me out. I can't even imagine someone sneezing into the stuff. Yuck! If I am stuck at one, I always use my sanitizer lotion on my hands--yeah, I know, OCD, LOL.

wally, when I was young and we went to Claim Jumper in OC, CA, they used to weigh you (12 and under). I wonder if they still do that? The meal was really inexpensive for the parents, that I know. They had awesome chocolate cake and I think they still do.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Was it a reflection in the guard that you saw, wally?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
They need to weigh some of the people that go to these buffets. if you weigh 400 pounds you have no business going to a buffet. Unless you plan on eating at the salad bar.

There's a place in Chandler called The Heart Attack Grill. If you weigh more than 350 pounds, you eat for free. The waitresses wear little nurses uniforms and if you eat too much, they will wheel you to your car in a wheelchair.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Wally, now that's a plan. But, the salad bars contain lots of calories too--that's how people fool themselves.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
I been there little, they cook there fries in lard.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Little, what will they think of next. There is a bar I told C2O about here in Singapore called "The Clinic". It gives me the willies with the IV bottles, wheel chairs, etc. But, these two places should merge! People have no shame.

They have a french fry bar there. I haven't been yet, I'm trying to get my ex to take me their next week.

KIA, that sounds like this place

Little gain some weight, you can eat for free.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-07-29:
It's POP...not soda...Just POP...P-O-P...POP!
Should have told them to bring you another 'to go' container instead of a 'to go cup' and poured the POP in it and carry it out...
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Wally, I'd have to gain like 240 pounds. Not worth it for free food
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
That's disgusting little! I wonder how many distinguished members of the M3C Community could be dining there for free?
My guess is 6.

I weigh 159, I aint no fatso, speaking of fat. Anyone see that stupid show on fox. More to love.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
No, has anyone been watching that show where the fat people dance?
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-07-29:
Basher doesn't do salad bars/buffets...I just can't...and like said above, think how many dirty hands handle the serving utensils and throw the utensil into the mix, dirty handle and all...ewwwwwww...same with those places that make Ice cream with the scoops and donut places...anything with handles tossed in the food is a Basher No Can Doer!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Count me out, C2O. I would like to get a free meal, but not for weighing 350 pounds, LOL. Wait, I do get free meals!

wally, we don't have that show. So, you like it?
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-07-29:
I wanted to see that show YaYa, but I don't get that cable channel...then I was told it is repeated on Bravo, but I still don't know when it's on there.

Speaking of containers, I bought these metal containers at Costco, 2 for $13, when I was home. They keep your drink hot or cold for several hours. They also have no drip locking tops that open with the push of a button on the side. These would be perfect to transfer any drink from anywhere for free. Ha!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-29:
Yaya... the only time I see that show is when "The Soup" makes fun of it.
Posted by goduke on 2009-07-30:
It's probably designed so that a person does get a drink with multiple refills and use their refills to supply the second cup for free.
