All Phone Compaines Informative - Finding Service Not In Small Rural Area And No Choices For Phone Services

Review by Victory in Jesus 35 on 2009-07-30
BUENA VISTA, GEORGIA -- When you check for phone services. Due to not living in a big city, phone companies do not consider ruel towns or small areas where there services are not offered. They don't take a suggestion. When people out in these areas live on fixed income and would love there services and have no choice. Except one phone service in the Buena Vista Area 3 packages and that's it.

Also as a phone company you should consider the smart people who know that it is important to have a phone service: Reason you can't wait on hold all day durning the after noon to fix a bill problem on a cell phone it'll eat up all your free time minites. And it's inconvent after 9pm to use your free time mintes after 9pm because there business is closed after 9pm. And Due to the econemy everything is tight. praise god. People are going to cut all services to either a perpaid cell phone and no will get a hold of No- one. And cell phones don't know where you are when you call 911 for emergancy and if you stranded on the road your phone may not work anyway. This would be a good commercial. Yah!

I should get paid for Marketing and Ideas... People don't stop to think of long term effects and old people who have stopped learning will still be around for a while and will be around more longer than the newer generation.

Due either to go or bad eating habbits and health. Amen....This is for All Phone companies Who Do Not Extend there Service pass the Big Cities.

There are people on fixed incomes living in urban area who would like all the bells and whistles as well.

Actually most all cell phones have a GPS location device built in to them. When calling 911 your approximate location will be displayed on a screen in front of the operator. When calling 911 your phone will be 'locked' preventing you from powering off the phone unless you pull out the battery.

"And Due to the econemy everything is tight. praise god." You are blaming a deity for the current economic troubles?

People will look for anything to blame.

I may get zapped for saying this but:

Victory, you are so right. You should be getting paid.
For being the poster child showing how public schools are failing the students AND how valuble SPELLCHECK is to some people. (VH)

Or for showing how people are allowed into the country that cannot properly conjugate a simple sentence in English.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
Which country US or Canada?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
I bet the OP is a native of Buena Vista, Georgia. *banjo music plays*
Posted by i_am_canadian on 2009-07-30:
Both countries.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
I-am, you can't expect a person to be able to "conjugate a simple sentence in English" the moment they touch ground do you?
Posted by i_am_canadian on 2009-07-30:
Actually, basic English and/or French skills are supposed to be a requirement for immigration to Canada. You should be able to at least string together a few words fluently and converse with relative competence. But from what I've dealt with, I don't think it's very well enforced.

Zz, I spent time at a prison camp in *banjo music" country and I can eat 50 eggs.

People who live in rural areas do not receive the phone service that anyone who lives in the big city take for granted, that's the complaint. Cell phones don't do a bit of good if you are in a rural area and you are in a dead zone. Thankfully, I've never had to test the 911 system in this situation, but it happens all the time where I live too. This person is just trying to get the phone company to listen to their request and apparently they've tried, and failed, to get their attention. I am sure there are many other people in the same boat.

So, I don't have any good suggestions for this person. Does anyone else?
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-07-30:
If you can get internet (which you seem to have access to) then you can get phone service.

Just look up one of those VOIP services like skype or something like that

you'd need a cell still just for 911 calls though (the online-only phone services can't dial 911)
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
I think this person may be elderly and 911 service could be very useful, if not lifesaving. Sounds like they can get some type of basic service and that's it. They also may not be using a computer at their own home, but Skype is a good suggestion, pepper.

Don't they have LANDLINE availability in that metropolis?
They still work just fine in ALL areas! (BA)

Classic movie, Supes!

C'mon, now ZZ. Everyone knows it was impossible to survive without cell phones. Sheeesh.

I hate cell phones with a passion, but have insisted that my mama and my sister carry them at all times. One is elderly, one is partially disabled.

I don't think that's irrational, it just makes sense.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-07-30:
and ... cell phones don't even need an active plan in the US - not if you're using them to call 911.

ironically though, landlines do
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
Remember the old days of the Landline Phones when you could recall phone numbers in your "head?"
Posted by BokiBean on 2009-07-30:
Well my mama can't use no land line from a supine position in the back yard. That's why she has both..cell and land.

One of her friends laid on the floor in the house with a broken hip for two days til her daughter found her. Not gonna happen to MY mama.

zz..in Selma, we only had to remember the last four digits and I STILL remember them. :D

"Sarah? Get Aunt Bea on the line for me, I want to find out if we're having fried chicken for supper."
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
Heh. Go figure, in 5 years time as an EMT not a SINGLE elderly person that I attended to used a cell phone to call 911.
Posted by BokiBean on 2009-07-30:
Prolly cause they didn't have a Ladybug.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
Yeah Boki, it would be some letters then the 4 digits.
Oh, the phone pranks you could do back then.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
MM, probably a lot of elderly people can't afford the extra expense of a cell phone or don't know they can get an affordable one. All I know is, my cell phone does not work where I live so it really is no good at home anyway. In the "olden" days, there were many times a cell phone would have come in handy--especially when traveling long distances. They do make life easier in many respects.

That would be true, KIA, if elderly people knew how to use one.

The free phone program they are advertising here doesn't appear to be marketed toward the older crowd.

IMHO, my parents (in their 60's) have cell phones more to 'keep up with the Joneses', than expect them to be lifesavers.
Posted by BokiBean on 2009-07-30:
MM..you've got a good point. Older people find them difficult to deal with. I hate them myself and I'm just a chickadee.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
MM, if people aren't used to the technology, then they can definitely do without it. My mother could barely use her regular telephone in her 70's and 80's and I got her one with the huge numbers on it, LOL. I have an aunt in her 80's, though, that still drives and calls me on her cell all the time. One time she called me WHEN she was driving! I told her to please call me back when she arrived at destination. Trying to picture that in my head--not pretty, LOL.
Posted by BokiBean on 2009-07-30:
My dad in law still has one of those black rotary phones...and uses it! I kid you not.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
OMG, KIA! I would have done the same thing.

I just don't understand people in general. I'm 40 and HATE to talk on cell phones.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
You'd enjoy talking to me MM. LOL!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
C2O, you betcha!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
MM, I don't like talking on the cell either. I'm more of a face-to-face kind of person. Except now, I have to talk on the phone or I would never talk to my kids and hear their voices! I do hate it when people are in public on their phones. Especially the loud talkers or people checking out at stores. Annoying and rude!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
I'm a dialing! lol!

I like that too kia, especially when they are bluting out their personal business like they are the only one in the room.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
Oh, yeah, the personal business. Especially when the F word is used in every sentence, maybe twice. I always want to tell them to "Shut the h@ll up". Instead I just stare at them hoping to bore a hole through them. (Doesn't work--yet.)
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
Another one that cracks me up is when 2 people walk in together, and each is on their cell phone. I figure they might be talking to each other, lol!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
C2O, another funny scenerio is when two people are out to dinner (or whatever) and one of them is on the cell talking away--not just a quickie. If someone did that to me, I'd just get up and walk out. I can't think of anything more rude. Turn the damn cell phones off!! Please.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
And leave them a voice mail letting them know that you're long gone. I was working at a place one time, away from my normal office. I didn't really want to be there, so I pulled out my phone and started faking a conversation, talking loud enough to be heard. Made it out like they needed me back over at the other office. It worked too! Got home way early that day.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-30:
C2O, LOL.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-07-30:
the f word being used every sentence

they need some creativity in their cussing.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-31:
LOL @ PE! No kidding!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-07-31:
Maybe I'll suggest it next time!
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-07-31:
yeah, i forgot the passage but read Stephen King's Insomnia... one of the characters has a husband that goes insane... the stuff that came from his mouth was fascinating.
