VRBO Rentals Complaint - Negative. Misrepresentation, lack of information

Review by Lance123 on 2009-07-31
On July 5th, 2009 I rented property # 27235 from VRBO "Casa Ensueno" Billed as a "Dream House" in a Mexican Sleepy Village. What the owner failed to mention is the "Sayulita" {place of rental] is a hippie colony with all its attributes: drugs, dirt, street dogs, resentfull natives, no street names, crooked officials, etc etc. But most important is that the owner failed to mention to me that there was no way to access her property situated on top of a jungle hill. The only road to it [no name visible] had been washed out from recent rains (Hurracane. Andres) Since the street did not have a name posted I had to hire a local taxi to find it for me (the natives were reluctant to talk to gringo tourists) who refused to take his 4X up the hill.
The owner, an American from California, failed to let me know of the condition of the open jungle trail (street) and failed to answer my e mails. I do not seek a refund or compensation I just want other travelers to be aware of pitfalls of nature and the lack of courtesy from owners with insatiable lucrum.
