Budget Movers - Houston Complaint - Budget Movers in Houston, TX are a big time scammer, fraud, cheat

HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I was provided a quote of $200 to move all my stuff from my apartment in Houston to my new apartment in Webster which is just outside Houston. The total distance is 17 miles. Once they arrived at my new place today (July 31st, 2009), they provided me with a bill of $2200. They said that if I didn't pay, they wouldn't unload my stuff. Moreover, for every hour I delay, they said they'd also charge me $100.

By the time I talked to a few people about this and finally decided to pay and release all my stuff, I ended up paying $2470. This includes $1200 for shrink wrapping and $200 for blanket rental. This is absolutely riddiculous.

When I read that I am the 2nd person who was scammed in a week and these people have been scamming others as well, I could not longer resist but to share my own story. I hope no one else goes through this and these guys are prosecuted for their actions.

The owner of this company (Budget Movers) is most likely Anthony. I spoke with Todd over the phone who took my booking initially and one of the movers name who moved my stuff was Steve. Aparently these guys also go by the name of Careful Carriers and have had other names in the past too.
