Choice Hotels Complaint - Roadway Inn and EconoLodge Bad Choice Hotels
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- This weekend we stayed in two Choice Hotels. This is an advisory not to stay there. The EconoLodge (TX342) in San Angelo TX was a total nightmare. It was hard to find (sign blown out). The room was very small, ok since it was just for a night. The room was barely adequate for overnight. The towels were thin and small. The beds were double (supposed to be queen). The lights in the room didn't work. The remote didn't work. Glad to leave. Last chance for the EconoLodge. It takes more than a coat of paint to update a motel.
Next, we stayed at the Roadway Inn (211) in San Antonio. I was in in pretty bad location, but the price was right and it had a pool. On first sight the room looked a little better, still the beds were small and I had requested a rollaway, which they didn't have. They also were missing towels and light bulbs and a working remote. I waited in line the first night OUTSIDE for 45 minutes to get towels. It was free entertainment...domestic problems, ghetto style. And there were no towels to be had anyway. After all the wait, he gave me hand towels. I didn't even mention the remote.
Bottom line, EconoLodge and Roadway Inn are still just barely a room with a bath. And not all that.
BTW for all my stays, the points are worthless.
