Travelocity Complaint - Travelocity Insurance A Joke:(
FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- I paid about $3,700 dollars with insurance for my honeymoon trip to Bali. I made the reservations with the insurance, because I knew that I could not guarantee that I could go on that date. I am in the US Navy and since there was a terrorist attack in Indonesia a couple weeks ago I was not given clearance to go to Bali. Of course this was not one of the 3 only reasons you can cancel a trip...one of them is "can't take the trip because you died!" Travelocity's charged me $673 dollars just to cancel! WHAT THE HELL WAS THE INSURANCE FOR THEN??? I cancelled the trip 3 weeks before the trip was scheduled and they still charge me.
The customer service is ridiculous, at first they were going to charge me half the cost of the trip, but after talking with a supervisor his best offer was refund all but $673. That is a ridiculous cancellation fee considering that I paid upfront for the insurance.
Travelocity suckered me for $673 dollars, but I will inform everyone in my detachment to never use Travelocity. If they would have been more flexible or at least somewhat reasonable on their cancellation charges they would still have a paying customer, but instead they get my $673 and a lot of bad word of mouth. Travelocity will go out of business very soon if it treats it's customers this way. I plan on going through a different travel agency and I will continue to spread the word on Travelocity's rip off agency.
