Jitterbug or Greatcall Complaint - Rip off

Review by PCB Lynne on 2009-08-04
This company preys on the elderly and disabled. I bought a Jitterbug for my 18 year old disabled daughter. She used it only a handful of times, when the battery died. After unsuccessfully trying to recharge it, I called the company. They advised me to send it in, even though I told them that I still could return it to the retailer for a full refund. Against my better judgment I did as directed. After 3 weeks of no word from Jitterbug I called to inquire. They told me I would have to pay $150 for a new phone. I could not believe it. If that phone was not fixable then it was a product failure not because of anything that was done by us. The attitude of Jitterbug was too bad for us. There are many similar complaints all over the internet. Shame on them!

How long did your daughter use it? I'm curious.

Is the battery replaceable? Perhaps a new battery will fix the phone. Much cheaper than buying a new phone.
