Pep Boys Complaint - Incompetent, Inconsiderate, Unprofessional, DON"T EVER GO THERE!
ANY TOWN -- Whether it is an oil change, a tire change, a battery or alternator, the one thing you can expect at any Pep Boys locations is a level of incompentence and insolence that is unmatched in the modern age of auto repair and customer service. I wouldn't feel comfortable allowing these people to check my wiper fluid.
I have only had the displeasure of going to Pep Boys on two occasions, as their reputation for being a professional fiasco is well documented...and both times I had horrible experiences. Not only did they put in the wrong part, (an alternator) that worked just well enough to get me home. Then when confronted with the issue, they have a delicate interwoven menagerie of buck passing managers, stiff lipped figure heads, and penny penching authority figures...to keep screwing you around hopefully long enough for you to quit. I am convinced that their balance sheets incorporate a certain number of bad parts, faulty installations, and incorrect assessments in order to maintain profitability. It only makes sense, bad parts and shabby services still need to be sold...otherwise, they just sit around clogging up space for good inventory and competent personnel.
It is shocking to me that a company could be this inefficient over the test of time with such regularity and dedication.
Do yourself a solid, and never let these bastians of debauchery ever lay wrench to your vehicle.
