Hewlett-Packard Company Complaint - Beward of Advertised Rebates
Bought a nice HP Mini and decided to match it up with the recommended printer as the printer featured a 100% mail-in rebate.
After receiving the products, I followed the printer rebate directions to the "T". Because HP shipped the products on different dates, the information on the shipping labels listed - you guessed it - two different dates. I included an email sent to me by HP the date of purchase so there would be no question as to whether I had purchased the products on the same day, which was a requisite of the rebate.
Several weeks later I received correspondence from the HP rebate center stating that I would not be sent a rebate check as a result of a discrepancy in purchase dates.
It took a call with a wait to clear things up. The lady on the other end even indicated she saw that I purchased the computer and printer on the same date in the system.
Wonder how many people HP has screwed out of rebates this way...Hard to believe they do this to their customers. Complaint on BBB to follow.
