Monsanto Informative - Patent On Genetically Modified Food (Causes Tumors In Rats)

Review by anniea24 on 2009-08-09
KIHEI, HAWAII -- I recommend that you watch the documentary, the future of food. It was a Netflix instant play. Monsanto (a chemical company) is genetic. modifying corn so that their herbicides won't kill them) Also they are taking steps to make seeds self destruct, so they can control the seeds, that should belong to the farmers.

This is not old time making seedless watermelon, and other chromosomal mixes, but actually inserting bacteria into the DNA of the corn, using viral vectors (helps the bacteria).

Man has been modifying plants and animals ever since they gave up being hunter/gatherers. The DNA from bacteria that they inject into the plant DNA is not there to help the bacteria, but to help the plant. Also, the principal reason for hybridizing corn was not to protect the corn from pesticides, but to increase the yield. Hybrid corn can produce up to 2-3 times the corn with the same land as unhybridized corn. Better you find something that is not produced by someone with an Axe to grind.

Carrots are genetically modified to be orange. They add the beta kerotin to give it that orange color. Real carrots come in other colors. Seedless watermelons are modified too.
